Travelling Exhibition

The travelling exhibition will include cultural expressions and products of the countries which form part of the en-compass action. It will consist of some 'pop-up' framed panels, along with exhibition hardware that will be designed centrally in Newcastle, but constructed by local artisans and craftspeople in-country.

Once the catalogues of cultural heritage products have become available, En-compass participants will make a selection of material that will be used to develop the travelling exhibition.

From their home countries, the participants will research the material, write accompanying label text and prepare other supporting material.

The team will then liaise with the facilitators at ICCHS who will draw the participants' work and ideas together and will develop a brief that will be given to an exhibition designer to develop.

The partner organisations in each country will arrange venues and the logistics for the exhibition to travel to each country, although the costs will be covered centrally through the grant funds. The partner organisations will arrange for the monitoring of visitor numbers and for visitor surveys to be undertaken at the in-country venues. The en-compass manager in ICCHS will arrange for the transportation in between countries. The programme manager will also arrange for the virtual exhibition to go online, along with associated material developed for the exhibition.
